Most admissions consulting firms are staffed by former admissions officers or professional consultants. At MedTrack Mentors, your advisor is a physician — someone who has lived the journey you are preparing for. We provide physician-to-student mentorship, not generic consulting. We also take a holistic approach, working with students from early pre-med planning through interview preparation, rather than just polishing a completed application.

Yes. We advise students applying to MD, DO, PA, and dental programs, as well as international students pursuing USMLE pathways and U.S. residency. Our advisors have expertise across all healthcare professional school tracks and can help you determine which path best aligns with your goals.

No. MedTrack Mentors is an independent mentorship organization. We are not affiliated with any medical school, university, or admissions committee. This independence allows us to give you honest, unbiased guidance focused entirely on your success.

The earlier, the better. Students who begin working with us in their freshman or sophomore year have the most time to build a competitive profile — strengthening their GPA, accumulating meaningful clinical experience, and developing a clear application narrative. That said, we work with students at every stage, including those who are applying in the current cycle or considering reapplication.

The first step is a free 30-minute consultation with one of our physician advisors. During this call, we will learn about your background, your goals, and where you are in the process. We will then recommend the package or services that best fit your needs. There is no obligation to continue after the consultation.

We will identify your strengths, flag any gaps, and give you an honest assessment of your competitiveness. You will leave with a clear sense of what your application needs and how we can help.

Absolutely. We work with non-traditional applicants regularly — career changers, post-baccalaureate students, students with gap years, and applicants with complex academic histories. Non-traditional applicants often have compelling stories to tell, and our advisors are skilled at helping you frame your unique background as an asset.

We offer four core packages: the Pre-Med Launchpad ($2,800) for students early in their journey, the Application Concierge ($5,400) for students preparing to apply, the White Coat Elite ($8,800) for comprehensive application support, and the Global White Coat Pathway ($7,800) for international students. We also offer à la carte services for students who need targeted help with specific components of their application.

The Application Concierge is our most popular package for students in the application cycle. It includes a comprehensive strategy session, full personal statement coaching (multiple drafts and revisions), school list development, secondary essay support, interview preparation, and ongoing advisor access throughout the cycle. Yes. Our à la carte services allow you to get targeted help with specific components — personal statement review, school list strategy, mock interviews, or secondary essay coaching — without committing to a full package. Most competitive applicants apply to 15–25 schools, with a mix of reach, target, and safety programs. The right number depends on your GPA, MCAT score, clinical experience, and the competitiveness of your target programs. Applying to too few schools increases risk; applying to too many can spread your secondary essay effort too thin. We help every student build a strategic, balanced school list.

Ideally, you should take the MCAT in the spring of your junior year — March through May — so you have your score before AMCAS opens in late May. This allows you to submit your primary application as early as possible, which is a significant advantage in rolling admissions. If you need to retake the MCAT, plan for a summer test date and a slightly later application submission.

The personal statement is one of the most important components of your application — and one of the most commonly mishandled. It is the only place in your application where you speak in your own voice. A strong personal statement does not just summarize your experiences; it tells a coherent story about why you want to be a physician and what you bring to the profession. Our advisors provide line-by-line personal statement coaching to help you craft a narrative that stands out.

Being waitlisted is not a rejection — many students are ultimately accepted from the waitlist. If you are waitlisted at a school you want to attend, send a well-crafted letter of continued interest expressing your enthusiasm for the program and updating them on any significant accomplishments since your application. Do not send multiple letters. We can help you write an effective letter of continued interest as part of our ongoing support.

Reapplication is common and often successful — many physicians applied twice before being accepted. The key is to use the gap year strategically: strengthening your application, gaining additional clinical experience, and addressing whatever weaknesses held you back. We work with reapplicants to build a stronger second application and help you avoid repeating the same mistakes.

Sessions are conducted via video call (Zoom or Google Meet) and are scheduled at times that work for you. Most packages include a combination of longer strategy sessions and shorter check-in calls. Between sessions, you have access to your advisor via email for questions and document review. We work around your schedule — including evenings and weekends.

The duration depends on the package. The Pre-Med Launchpad includes three months of support. The Application Concierge and White Coat Elite packages provide support through the full application cycle — typically 8–12 months from initial strategy through interview season. We are with you for the entire journey.

Yes. We want you to have the best possible experience, and that starts with the right advisor relationship. If at any point you feel a different advisor would be a better fit, please let us know and we will make it work.

Yes. Our Global White Coat Pathway package ($7,800) is specifically designed for international students pursuing U.S. medical education, including USMLE preparation, residency application strategy, and navigating the unique challenges of the international applicant pathway. Our advisors have experience with international medical graduates and can provide guidance specific to your situation.
