What Medical School Admissions Consulting Includes

Every engagement is built around your specific profile—not a generic template. Here is what physician-led advising looks like in practice.

Comprehensive Profile Assessment

A detailed review of your cumulative GPA, science GPA, MCAT score, clinical experience, physician shadowing, research, community service, leadership, extracurricular activities, and letters of evaluation. This assessment identifies strengths to highlight, potential concerns that may require attention, and gaps to address before you apply.

Medical School List Strategy

A profile-matched list of MD and DO programs that balances reach, target, and more realistic-fit schools — accounting for academic metrics, mission alignment, residency considerations, clinical interests, experiences, and personal goals. Because there are no guaranteed "safety schools" in med school admissions, every recommendation is made thoughtfully.

Personal Statement and Narrative Development

Physician-reviewed feedback to help applicants identify the central themes in their stories and develop personal statements that are authentic, specific, reflective, and memorable. The objective is to help you communicate your real experiences with clarity and purpose — not to manufacture a dramatic story.

Work and Activities Descriptions

Help writing impactful descriptions that explain what you did, what you learned, how you contributed, and why an experience mattered — within strict character limits. The most meaningful activities should add depth to the application rather than repeat information from the personal statement.

Secondary Essay Guidance

Support understanding each prompt, choosing appropriate examples, remaining within word or character limits, and creating responses that complement the primary application. Essay support includes the schools and revision limits included in the selected package.

Letters of Evaluation Strategy

Guidance identifying appropriate recommenders, understanding school-specific letter requirements, planning requests early, and providing recommenders with useful information about your goals and experiences. The applicant does not write or edit confidential recommendation letters.

Medical School Interview Preparation

Structured mock interviews in traditional, conversational, panel, and Multiple Mini Interview formats. Applicants practice answering common and difficult questions, explaining motivations, discussing weaknesses, addressing ethical scenarios, and thinking clearly under pressure — with detailed verbal and written feedback.

Application Timeline and Submission Strategy

An application-cycle plan covering MCAT timing, school-list development, recommendation letters, personal statement drafting, activity descriptions, primary submission, secondary essays, interview preparation, and decision-making. Application-service dates change each year — applicants should verify current AMCAS and AACOMAS deadlines.

Ongoing Application-Cycle Support

Depending on the selected package, guidance may continue after the primary application is submitted — including secondary planning, interview preparation, application updates, letters of interest, waitlist strategy, acceptance evaluation, and final school selection.

What Makes MedTrack Mentors Different?

Dr. Mario Tomei has experienced the admissions process from multiple perspectives—as an applicant, medical student, physician, professor, and former medical school admissions committee member. That background shapes every recommendation.

Physician-led guidance

Every advising session is led by Dr. Mario Tomei, MD, MBA, MHA, CHSE — a practicing physician, university educator, and former medical school admissions committee member.

Former admissions committee insight

Dr. Tomei has served on a medical school admissions committee. He knows what reviewers are actually looking for because he has been in those rooms.

Individualized application strategy

No templates, no generic advice. Every engagement is built around your specific profile, timeline, and goals.

Honest assessment of strengths and concerns

We tell students what they need to know — not what they want to hear — and then build a strategy to help them move forward.

Authentic writing rather than templates

Personal statements and essays should reflect the applicant's unique story and voice. Feedback is direct and designed to preserve authenticity.

Consistency across application components

The personal statement, activity descriptions, secondary essays, and interview responses are reviewed as one complete application — not as isolated assignments.
